VERY fond memories from my childhood~~Ma loved Mincemeat Pie, and of course it had to be covered with her Brandy Sauce!!! ALSO, this is an excellent Hot Toddy Drink~just add hot water!!
1 3/4 C. Dark Brown Sugar
1/4 C. Flour
1/4 t. Salt
1/4 C. Butter
1/4 t. Cinnamon
1/4 t. ground Cloves
1/4 C. Lemon Juice
2 C. Boiling Water
6 T. Brandy
6 T. Rum
Soften butter. Beat in sugar, flour, spices, and salt; continue beating till creamy and smooth. Add lemon juice.
Add boiling water. Heat on stove and boil softly for 3 minutes.
Remove from fire and cool 15 minutes. Add brandy and rum.
Keeps well in a jar in the fridge, so that you can double or quadruple the recipe.
